  • Item descriptionML Entertainment served as one of the producing teams with Ryan being the production manager and creative producer.

  • Ryan directed the Homecoming Parade, which is a time-honored tradition at Virginia Tech.

  • Ryan directed and produced the inaugural HOMECOMING SHOWCASE. The showcase was a culmination of music, dance, and other artistically creative talents all in one place, for one night only, with one main goal of entertainment. Ryan wanted to highlight and acknowledge diverse student talents through a carefully curated production with alumni video segments and Homecoming Court presenters. Ryan’s theatrical live show also included pre-show, intermission and post-show visuals and musical soundtracks to aid in the audience's experience.

With Ryan’s creative mindset, he also curated and co-choreographed the opening and finale of the show with three headlining dance groups that Ryan put together months before the show.

  • Ryan directed and co-produced the kickoff event for Homecoming 2022. This event featured live music, VT dining food trucks, free Homestead Creamery ice cream, games, and the opportunity for attendees to get to know the Homecoming Court Candidates through engaging activities.

  • “The first Cultural Achievement Ceremony at Virginia Tech, the Donning of the Kente began in 2013 as a celebration of African American heritage.” Ryan served as the creative director and executive producer of the event.

  • Co-produced by ML Entertainment with Ryan serving as one of the assistant directors of programming & stage manager.

  • Co-produced by ML Entertainment with Ryan serving as one of the assistant directors of programming & logistics manager

  • A viewing party for the season premieres of Law & Order - SVU and Law & Order - Organized Crime on September 23. A week later Ryan offered the viewing for Station 19 and Grey's Anatomy on September 30.

  • During the pandemic, Ryan pitched to the principal called Friday Night Lights. This event was going to be the last hurrah for the senior class. The event would have been a drive-by of the school where teachers and faculty would line the sidewalks to safely interact with the students. After the teacher line up, the cars would do a lap around the football field where “2020” would be displayed on the scoreboard. Ryan was going to have emotional celebratory music amplified from the stadium's sound system, to signify a close to a chapter in life. As the event neared, hesitation from administration hindered the progress of Ryan’s team. Unfortunately, Friday Night Lights was postponed and then inevitably canceled.

  • Ryan served as a producer and liaison between the school's planning committee and the Student Council Association. The event would have been a “lock-in” where movies would be played all night in the school auditorium, food would be readily available, and Ryan would have coordinated an event production company to transform the hallways into different games and activation areas for student enjoyment. This end-of-year celebration was going to be held in June 2020. Due to the pandemic, this event was not able to be delivered.

  • This pep rally was going to be the one-year anniversary of Ryan’s first event directorial debut. Ryan and Mr. Robert Watters selected Calyiah Ash, the 2019 Homecoming Dance Director, to lead this project. To them, it was the best way to honor the expectation of excellence set by Ryan and his assembled team the previous year. While Calyiah served as director for the project, Ryan served as her producer. For months Calyiah and Ryan collaborated. They dreamed BIG for this event. As their final Student Council Association event they would plan, they were going to have production elements such as a drumline, smoke cannons, a news anchor MC, ambient lighting, curated soundtracks and many other innovative additions. Due to the Covid 19 shutdown, the event never came to fruition.

  • Directed by Ryan with the help of the Osbourn Park H.S. leadership seminar class. The color run was in collaboration with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Once all plans and arrangements were made, the event had to be canceled due to the outbreak of Covid-19.

  • Ryan had the joy of producing and hosting this show with Shayla Epps and the leadership seminar class with the direct guidance of Mr. Robert Watters. This show incorporated vocal and dance performances with faculty judges.

  • After Homecoming, Ryan had to focus on what was next for Osbourn Park H.S. Fall Frenzy was an event where students came after school to visit the tables of student organizations and watch dance performances specifically selected by Ryan. Students were able to eat, dance, collaborate and release the stress of school while being surrounded by other students looking for a good time.

  • Produced by Ryan and directed by Calyiah Ash. This dance was an extension of the creativity of that year's Homecoming Pep Rally and the spring 2019 pep rally. The theme of the dance was Hollywood. Calyiah and Ryan with the help of the school art department delivered a red carpet moment in addition to the other never before seen decorations and production elements. With a swift six-week turnaround this event was the most successful Homecoming dance since at least 2015. There was an increased attendee count of over 60%. Homecoming 2019 is what officially sparked Ryan’s excitement and confidence about producing and directing events & visual productions.

  • After the overwhelming feedback from Ryan’s 2019 pep rally, he was appointed CEO of the Student Council Association (SCA). Due to the added responsibilities of this executive role Ryan could not both direct and produce the Homecoming Pep Rally. Ryan decided just to produce that event while managing the other events, productions and activities that occurred during the energetic week of Homecoming 2019.

  • This was the first event ML Entertainment curated, produced and directed. At the time Ryan was serving as one of the event coordinators for his high school's Student Council Association (SCA). Ryan mixed & choreographed a faculty dance, coordinated the reveal of a county special guest (Superintendent Steve Walts), organized the reimagined interactive student games, selected the event MCs and managed a group tasked with singing Halo by Beyoncé for an emotional student tribute for three students who passed away that academic year. Ryan assembled a small team of creative Black students who helped make all of it a reality, with the support of the SCA and administration. Due to the elements of the show, the superintendent publicly thanked Ryan and his team for the months of work to build the event. Additionally, seniors and faculty complimented his team saying, “This was the best pep rally I have ever been to!”

  • As the PR and Production Consultant for Virginia Tech's Black Cultural Center (BCC), Ryan had the pleasure of interviewing the President of the student-run dance group, Exodus, for the BCCs Winter Student Spotlight, while leading post-production efforts. That project was the first in a series of productions that came out of the BCC in 2022.

  • After Ryan’s team delivered hundreds of decision-day graphics Ryan transformed each of them into a format that would be suitable for video. These profiles were then used for one of the two graduation videos. The second graduation video was a compilation of student memories spanning from their freshman to senior year. Ryan oversaw the execution of each project to ensure the two video teams met the deadlines that were set by the schools and Ryan's creative staff.

  • Ryan A. Paul was selected as one of the finalists of U.S. Senator Tim Kaine graduation competition. Speech available on YouTube.

  • Due to the Covid-19 lockdown, the graduating class of 2020 was not going to have their traditional college decision day festivities. Ryan assembled a team of graphic designers to design individual graphics for each student. Ryan then engineered a seamless production process while gathering the necessary assets for his design team.

  • An extension of Ryan’s THEE REVAMP photoshoot. This photoshoot focused on photography for his first website launch and digital content. This shoot was shot in Northern Virginia and Orlando, Florida utilizing four different sets.

  • Following Ryan's triumphant academic and professional achievements his sophomore year at Virginia Tech he had the opportunity to participate in a 10-day university-sponsored trip to the middle east, called the Perspectives Trip. While on the trip he quickly bonded with his now friend, Elle Smith. They formed a partnership and photographed hundreds of moments on the trip with Ryan being a focal point. With Ryan’s fierce look, walk, and poses Elle produced high-quality stills that captured the feeling and emotions of the ‘international sun’.

  • After Ryan saw the positive impact of his Winter 2020 Photoshoot, THEE REVAMP, he wanted to keep that momentum going. He decided to name this second shoot THEE REFRESH since Ryan felt more confident in his professional development journey after his last campaign. Furthermore, unlike his first photoshoot, this shoot only had two outfits. To Ryan, this photoshoot was a lot more freeing. Ryan and his photographer created an environment of creative exploration in order to deliver a different feel. Ryan’s goal is to do something different for each of his shoots since there will always be different looks and a purpose behind them.

  • As a first-year college student, Ryan felt it necessary to reintroduce himself as a dedicated rising professional. In order to do this Ryan had to rebrand his work and accomplishments to make sure it translated appropriately for internship applications. The first thing Ryan did for the campaign was plan and deliver a five-outfit photoshoot that resulted in over 600 stills. These outfits consisted of three main styles: business casual, styled casual, and school-branded. After the completion of the photoshoot, Ryan conducted extensive research on how to make the best resume and LinkedIn profile. Once Ryan felt confident in the new resume and newly-formed LinkedIn he focused his attention on designing a portfolio to showcase all of his work thus far. After this month break, Ryan had a revamped resume, purposeful LinkedIn and newly created portfolio. Therefore Ryan chose to name the overall project “The Rebranding Campaign,” while he named this first photoshoot of many, THEE REVAMP.
